Cowmix – Protein & Phosphorus
Cowmix is a cottonseed meal based protein supplement, which also contains a high level of phosphorus, trace minerals and Vitamin A. It is designed to be used with poor quality feed, such as pasture that has “hayed off” from either frost or dry spell. Cowmix is available with either 5%, 10% or 20% urea, enabling you to choose the product which is best suited to the conditions on your property. It is a very useful supplement for breeders, particularly during the later stages of pregnancy and during lactation. Cowmix may also be used to help maintain growth rate after weaning. Cowmix should be fed free choice, preferably in a covered trough.
Why use Cowmix?
Improved digestibility of dry feed
Improved dry feed intake
Improved calving rate and milk production
Supersulf and Supersulf S16 (High in Sulphur) is one of the only molasses based, high sulphur blocks available on the market. This means that it is both weatherproof and palatable. Supersulf contains 12% sulphur while Supersulf S16 contains 16% sulphur. Supersulf is formulated to be fed out when grazing forage sorghum to improve growth rates and reduce the risk of cyanide poisoning. While forage sorghum is being digested in the rumen, prussic acid (hydrogen cyanide) may be released, which can be fatal to stock. More commonly though, it may be present at low levels which can greatly reduce weight gains.
Forage sorghums are also low in sodium and the combination of supplementing with both salt and sulphur can have a substantial effect on the actual weight gains achieved.
Why use Supersulf?
Reduces risk of prussic acid poisoning
Pasture 17 + B
In this product we have added Bovatec®, which can increase the growth rates of young stock (cattle or sheep). It will also assist cows and ewes to utilise the available feed more efficiently.
Why use Pasture 17?
Provides protein and energy
Supplied ready to feed
Feedlot 40 & Feedlot 40 Plus
Feedlot 40 is a molasses based feedlot concentrate that contains all the essential ingredients to make a balanced feedlot ration. It is easily pumped which reduces manual handling when compared to conventional concentrates. Feedlot 40 also reduces dust, decreases the amount of fines that will separate out of the ration and helps make rations more palatable. It is suitable to use in both silage or grain based rations. Like all of our feedlot concentrates Feedlot 40 contains Lasalocid to improve growth rate and feed conversion.
Why use Feedlot 40?
Mixes well in all feeds
Fortamin(Trace Minerals) This block was carefully formulated to contain high levels of both macro and trace minerals. Fortamin is suitable for cattle, horses, sheep and goats, where it is likely that the pasture will be short in minerals. Fortamin blocks may be offered where horses and cattle are running in the same paddock.
Why use Fortamin?
Vital minerals for all
High in copper, cobalt, selenium and zinc
Useful level of phosphorus
Optiphos (High in Phosphorus) Optiphos lick blocks are suitable to be fed to cows running on low phosphorus soils where the added phosphorus will improve fertility. Ewes with lambs at foot will also benefit from Optiphos lick blocks because they contain effective levels of phosphorus and calcium. Phosphorus assists in the reduction of abortions, and mortality of young stock. Lactating animals require phosphorus to maintain milk production
Horses grazing pasture that is made up of exotic grasses like Buffel and Kikuyu are at risk of developing Bighead (see page 2). Optiphos lick blocks contain 12% Calcium and are useful in the prevention of Bighead. The Optiphos lick blocks are hard, yet palatable and provide a convenient method of supplementing your livestock’s’ diet with trace minerals and a significant amount of phosphorus.
Why use Optiphos?
Helps prevent Bighead in horses
Improved milk production and fertility
Improved calving percentage
Wetphos 5 and 15 lick blocks contain high levels of phosphorus, which may greatly improve calving rates, and a reduced rate of abortions and lower calf mortality.
The Wetphos formulation has been designed to be a hard, weatherproof but palatable supplement for cattle.
The advantage of Wetphos is that it contains low levels of salt, which enables this product to withstand moist conditions. The energy from molasses and cottonseed meal along with urea for added protein and generous levels of trace minerals, make Wetphos a superior supplement which can be fed out prior to the wet season.
Why use Wetphos?
Very high levels of phosphorus
Extra waterproof formulation
Maximised wet season growth rate
Difficult to overconsume
Improved calving and growth rate
Can prevent botulism and improve mortality rates
Prosup Zero – Protein & Phosphorus, no urea
Prosup Zero is a palatable protein & phosphorus supplement, providing a good source of bypass protein. It can be used for horses, cattle, sheep and goats as it contains no urea. Prosup Zero can help maintain the condition of your animals and can be fed in as seasons. Excellent source of calcium if grain feeding.
Calcifort and Calcifort+10 provides a good level of calcium, as well as cottonseed meal and molasses and is a very useful block to be fed when grazing stubble or dry feed. The cottonseed meal can help make up for the low protein of the stubble, while the molasses will provide a source of energy.
Calcifort is available with and without urea. It is useful when a calcium supplement is required, eg. when feeding grain in the paddock.
Why use Calcifort?
High in calcium
Molasses based for energy and palatability
High vitamin A level for better fertility
