Magfertet(Grass Tetany) Grass tetany is most common in adult cows and ewes especially when in heavy lactation and grazing lush grass pastures. It may also occur in cattle that are grazing cereal crops or when cattle are undernourished in cold wet weather. Signs – affected cows may suddenly throw their heads, bellow, and gallop in a wild and frenzied manner fall and develop convulsions. Prevention – place Agricon’s Magfertet blocks out early, one month before expected time of trouble. Magfertet has been formulated for good acceptance.
Why use Magfertet?
High level of magnesium
Molasses based for palatability
Formulated for weather resistance
Optigro 4, 7, 10 blocks are high in cottonseed meal, giving them a good level of natural bypass protein with less dependence on urea. They also has good levels of phosphorus and calcium which means it is the ideal block for young growing stock. Optigro 7 is very useful as protein supplement for breeders. Like all our blocks it is molasses based and packed in an edible cardboard carton. Optigro 7 can be used as a “starter” block, before moving on to a higher urea block such as Drimol 10 or Drimol 15.
Optigro is available in Optigro 4 Sheep, Optigro 7 and Optigro 10.
Why use Optigro?
High level of cottonseed meal can help to maintain growth rate
Includes phosphorus & calcium for skeletal growth
Pasture 17 + B
In this product we have added Bovatec®, which can increase the growth rates of young stock (cattle or sheep). It will also assist cows and ewes to utilise the available feed more efficiently.
Why use Pasture 17?
Provides protein and energy
Supplied ready to feed
Fortamin(Trace Minerals) This block was carefully formulated to contain high levels of both macro and trace minerals. Fortamin is suitable for cattle, horses, sheep and goats, where it is likely that the pasture will be short in minerals. Fortamin blocks may be offered where horses and cattle are running in the same paddock.
Why use Fortamin?
Vital minerals for all
High in copper, cobalt, selenium and zinc
Useful level of phosphorus
Feedlot 802 & Feedlot 802 AgPlus
Feedlot 802 & Feedlot 802 AgPlus
Feedlot 802 is a concentrated premix containing high levels of vitamins, trace minerals and Lasalocid Sodium. It is especially suited to larger feedlots and feed mills which have a local source of urea, limestone, salt and dicalcium phosphate.
Feedlot 802 Esk (S4 licence or Vet Script required) has added Virginiamycin, which can help further to control grain acidosis. Feedlot 802 Ty (S4 licence or vet script required) is also available.
Why use Feedlot 802?
Concentrated – 2kg / tonne
High vitamin levels of A, D & E
Cowmix – Protein & Phosphorus
Cowmix is a cottonseed meal based protein supplement, which also contains a high level of phosphorus, trace minerals and Vitamin A. It is designed to be used with poor quality feed, such as pasture that has “hayed off” from either frost or dry spell. Cowmix is available with either 5%, 10% or 20% urea, enabling you to choose the product which is best suited to the conditions on your property. It is a very useful supplement for breeders, particularly during the later stages of pregnancy and during lactation. Cowmix may also be used to help maintain growth rate after weaning. Cowmix should be fed free choice, preferably in a covered trough.
Why use Cowmix?
Improved digestibility of dry feed
Improved dry feed intake
Improved calving rate and milk production
Calcifort and Calcifort+10 provides a good level of calcium, as well as cottonseed meal and molasses and is a very useful block to be fed when grazing stubble or dry feed. The cottonseed meal can help make up for the low protein of the stubble, while the molasses will provide a source of energy.
Calcifort is available with and without urea. It is useful when a calcium supplement is required, eg. when feeding grain in the paddock.
Why use Calcifort?
High in calcium
Molasses based for energy and palatability
High vitamin A level for better fertility
Phos N Pro
Phos N Pro 7 11 15 20 lick blocks contain phosphorus and urea which are important in fibre digestion, maintaining feed intake and healthy bone structure. Breeders that calve in good body condition will start cycling earlier. This means that breeders need good nutrition management.
Phos N Pro can be fed to replacement heifers which will assist their growth phase to meet the production target of 650g/day for them to cycle at 15 months of age. Phos N Pro blocks are hard, palatable and weather proof.
Why use Phos N Pro?
High phosphorus with protein
Improved fertility in poor country
Increased milk production in lactating stock
Can be fed all year round
Practical levels of urea
Optiphos (High in Phosphorus) Optiphos lick blocks are suitable to be fed to cows running on low phosphorus soils where the added phosphorus will improve fertility. Ewes with lambs at foot will also benefit from Optiphos lick blocks because they contain effective levels of phosphorus and calcium. Phosphorus assists in the reduction of abortions, and mortality of young stock. Lactating animals require phosphorus to maintain milk production
Horses grazing pasture that is made up of exotic grasses like Buffel and Kikuyu are at risk of developing Bighead (see page 2). Optiphos lick blocks contain 12% Calcium and are useful in the prevention of Bighead. The Optiphos lick blocks are hard, yet palatable and provide a convenient method of supplementing your livestock’s’ diet with trace minerals and a significant amount of phosphorus.
Why use Optiphos?
Helps prevent Bighead in horses
Improved milk production and fertility
Improved calving percentage
